SHeep Center
Cal Poly sheep are rarely, if ever, inside a barn; instead the ewes graze on 140 acres of pasture and open rangeland at Cheda Ranch.
The center's grazing practices are designed to support sheep health, wildlife habitat and responsible land management while reducing the need for supplemental feeding.
Students have opportunities to explore sheep production and grazing management through facilities that include barns, corrals and a multipurpose building equipped for classroom instruction, sheep shearing, lambing and laboratory activities.
