You can make a difference in the future of our nation's natural resources! Work for employers challenged with environmental protection and sustainable resource management. Today's graduates are currently employed at hundreds of companies.

The Forestry and Natural Resources degree provides the practical and analytical management skills to meet the demands of tomorrow's challenges. The program combines training in the areas of forest ecology, social and management sciences, computer information systems, and field techniques in order to equip graduates for jobs in forestry and natural resources management.

Leisure is America's number-one economic activity. In fact, one-third of our time, income and land is devoted to leisure and recreation. The recreation administration degree leads to employment opportunities in the second largest industry in the American economy with 400-500 billion dollars in direct spending annually. Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management has been identified, by labor and economic studies, as one of the top five industries for growth in employment. Enrollment in this program has increased 20% since 1999 and our career placement rate exceeds 90%.

The Environmental Management and Protection program is an undergraduate, interdisciplinary course of study integrating the biophysical and social/economical/political sciences. The curriculum emphasizes management and protection of ecosystem structures and processes that sustain uses of environmental resources. The major will provide students with the science and management background in natural resources that, when properly integrated, can guide consumptive uses of resources in a sustainable manner.

The Natural Resources Management Department offers the following major degree programs:

Also offered is the following Master of Science Degree:

For graduate students the Natural Resources Management Department coordinates with the College of Agriculture to offer a Master of Science in General Agriculture which provides the opportunity to focus in the area of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management.
