Samuel Leventini, Ph.D.
- Mechanical
Samuel Leventini is an assistant professor in Agricultural Engineering in the BioResource and Agricultural Engineering Department at Cal Poly. His background includes work in mechanical engineering, specifically prolonging the life of mechanical components through proper selection of contacting materials and lubricants for moving mechanical systems.
Currently, Dr. Leventini is pursuing mechanical solutions to aid in the solution of problems plaguing the agriculture sector. By incorporating his background in mechanical engineering and fundamental agricultural topics, he aims to provide opportunities for students to learn how to develop solutions to solve issues that will be faced in agricultural engineering careers.
Prior to Cal Poly, Dr. Leventini was a graduate student at UC Merced, focusing on prolonging the life of aerospace components through solid lubricants designed to survive the harsh conditions of space.
