Becoming an Ambassador

CAFES Ambassadors include both general members and executive ambassadors. All College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences students are encouraged to participate by attending meetings to hear from industry speakers, leading tours and communicating with prospective students, or assisting with college wide events, such as Open House.

Executive ambassadors represent all of the college’s 16 majors and also serve as a student advisory panel for the college. Ambassadors are chosen through a selection process and enjoy opportunities to enhance their leadership skills while gaining invaluable knowledge about Cal Poly and the agriculture, food and environmental sciences industries. They also develop close working relationships with the dean, Dean’s Advisory Council and other college leaders.

Ambassadors begin recruiting new members at the start of the fall quarter, with executive ambassadors being recruited at the end of spring quarter. The application process to become a executive ambassador includes submission of a written application. Once written applications are received and reviewed, a limited number of applicants are invited to in-person interviews with the current officer team.
