Get Ready to Go Crazy for Tomato Mania Plant Sale April 22-23 at Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO — More than 70 varieties of tomato plants will be available at the Cal Poly College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences’ annual Tomato Mania plant sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 22- 23, at Poly Plant Shop on campus.

Old fashioned goliath hybrid, moonglow, beefsteak, shady lady, Alaskan fancy, and a selection of cherry tomato plants are just some of the varieties that will be available during the annual Cal Poly student-run enterprise project. The plants cost $6.

This year the program is directed by a team of six students who have grown more than 5,000 tomato plants from seed to provide home gardeners with quality plants that will produce fresh tomatoes throughout the summer. Proceeds benefit the Horticulture and Crop Science Department.
