Info on CHEM, BIO and PHYS
Spring 2026 and CHEM 127
This advice is for any first-year students that have been block scheduled into CHEM 127 this spring 2026 quarter.

Non Pre-Vet track students: Please stay in CHEM 127. This will transfer to CHEM 1120 on the ’26-’28 catalog which you are going to move to. This will then allow you to take CHEM 2240-Organic Chemistry in the future.

Pre-Vet track students: ONLY stay in CHEM 127 if you can take CHEM 128 at Cal Poly this summer (class will be in person). You will then take the CHEM 129 “cap” course or CHEM 1122 in fall term. If you cannot take CHEM 128, or an articulated class over the summer, drop CHEM 127 for spring and commence the general chemistry series in Fall 2026 (CHEM 1120 and then CHEM 1122).
